Do we have the right KEY?

Have you ever been in a situation where you have so many keys in your hand — a key for your house gate or an access card to your apartment, a key for the main door, bedroom, drawers, fence or your vehicle? How about some keys from your workplace? And do you remember exactly which key belongs to which door? What if you works in a factory or hotel that has thousands of keys?

Perhaps, labeling would be really helpful for this matter. It seems easy, isn't it? But try to put yourself in a situation where, for example, you are in a hurry to do something or you are not having a good day that prevents you from focusing. I believe finding the right key would be an issue.

Pressures in life

Being under pressure is the common cause that will make us lose our focus.

The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.

John 10:10 (NLT)

In this life, there will be many challenges that we will face. During these times it might make us think how life is so difficult and no one can help us so we to rely on ourselves. In fact, we are on a battlefield (in our mind) for we live in the fallen world. But take heart, we are not part of the world.

They are not of the world, even as I am not of it.

John 15:19 (NIV)

If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you.

John 17:16 (NIV)

We need to remember that Jesus has won the battle two thousand years ago and that we are standing in a victory through Him. And He has given us all the keys to all kinds of doors in our lives.

"I will give you the keys (authority) of the kingdom of heaven; and whatever you bind [forbid, declare to be improper and unlawful] on earth will have [already] been bound in heaven, and whatever you loose [permit, declare lawful] on earth will have [already] been loosed in heaven.”

Matthew 16:19 (AMP)

Pay attention to the words -- I will give you the keys (authority)... God has given us the authorities to every door that we may need in this life. It's just a matter of finding which key that we really need for our situation right now. So what are these keys refer to? As God has mentioned in Matthew 16:19, the keys are the authorities -- the Word of God. In the Gospels of Matthew and Luke Jesus has modeled on how to conquer the devil when He was tempted. He used the Scriptures to refuse the temptation.

See Matthew 4:1-11 and Luke 4:1-13.

Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God."

Matthew 4:4 NIV

So remember this, every key opens one specific door hence know exactly which key to which door. The same thing like challenges, there is always a way out as long as we are in alignment with Him -- Yada. For He promised in Psalm 32:8 (NIV) "I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my loving eye on you."

No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.

1 Corinthians 10:13 (NIV)
